Today we received the tragic news that Officer Erika Coy, a 14-year veteran of the Hudson County Department of Corrections in Kearny, New Jersey, has lost her battle with an aggressive form of kidney cancer. Just 39-years-old, Officer Coy leaves behind four young children and her devoted husband, Joey.

As many of you know, we had established a fund drive just last week to help the Coy family pay for six months of their mortgage. Today, that fund drive takes on a new urgency. We ask for any assistance you can provide as we work to help offset the costs of Officer Coy’s funeral arrangements and establish and educational fund for their four children.
