About USSH

The Beginning

What started as a friendly rivalry between the Jersey City Police Department and the Jersey City Fire Department in 2008 has grown over the years thanks to the participation of a growing team of first responders and the civilian community who join together to use the sport of soccer to enact positive social change.

The U.S. Soccer Heroes, under the guidance of its energetic founder, Coach Alex Lalaoui, continues to expand its reach and impact.  From organizing tournaments for local first responders in need and running emergency fundraisers for the community during times of crisis to hosting free youth soccer classes and community events, the U.S. Soccer Heroes is committed to making a difference.  Since its inception, the U.S. Soccer Heroes has raised tens of thousands of dollars for local first responder families.

Our members and organizers are all volunteers and never profit from any of our activities.

The U.S. Soccer Heroes is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization.

Coach Alex Lalaoui

The USSH Founder

Coach Alex Lalaoui brings a lifetime of soccer knowledge to his role as the founder and Chairman of the Board of the U.S. Soccer Heroes.

Born and raised in Morocco, Coach Alex arrived in America in the 1990’s as a college soccer player.  He went on to earn his early soccer licenses and grew to love his new career in coaching.  In 2002, he began holding soccer classes for children at a church gym in Hoboken, New Jersey.  That grew into The Soccer Learning Center, now the area’s largest private soccer academy which serves hundreds of children and adult children every year.

Recognizing a love of soccer in the first responder community where he coached, Coach Alex began the U.S. Soccer Heroes, a 501c3 non-profit, providing avenues for supporting our local heroes in need.
