As the close of the first NJ Heroes soccer season approaches, the championship contenders are making their way to the top while one team is now finished for the year.
With their second forfeit of the season, the Hoboken PD team has now been eliminated from the league. “I’m disappointed to see that happen,” said Coach Alex Lalaoui, the NJ Heroes founder. “Hopefully Hoboken will be able to regroup and join us in 2011,” he added optimistically. The PAPD vs. Hoboken game scheduled for October 24th has been forfeited with a 3 to 0 win given to PAPD.
The top contenders to grab the first NJ Heroes championship title appear to be either PAPD, ICE or JCFD. If PAPD ties or beats ICE in Sunday’s match, PAPD will be the champs. If ICE beats PAPD by at least four goals, the goal differential will tell a different tale for the possible champ. If ICE beats PAPD by three goals, both ICE and PAPD will be tied on points and goal differential and a championship match will be scheduled for October 24th.
Sunday’s match is a big one – bring your friends and family to come see what will happen out on the pitch.
